Explainer: fees and transport
Covers several government fees.
Electricity taxes are based on how many kWh you use. These taxes comprise about 50% of your total cost.
This pays for your subscription to your grid operator for your electricity meter.
Covers a number of fees to the Danish energy system (“Energinet”), such as:
the transmission grid fee (“transmissionsnettarif”)
the overall system fee (“systemtarif”)
fee for keeping the electricity flow steady (“balancetarif”).
The fees cover costs for operations, maintenance, security and quality of supply, among other things.
Local grid fees (“Nettarif C”) cover costs to your local grid operator for operations and maintenance of the grid which delivers electricity to you.
